Most of the time, the primary air quality information comes from the US EPA’s AirNow program. There are occasions where there is a more local source with better information, such as in parts of Nevada or the State of Washington. These sources are noted, whether in app or on the tweets. Secondary information (burn notices, etc) are almost always generated by local governmental organizations.

Washoe Air is a specific brand of the AQeye family. Since it was the first localized version out the door, lots of people in northern Nevada (and elsewhere) already use it. In order to make those users feel at home as well as bring in a more national audience, the Washoe Air app will continue to be available. Once the AQeye app is released, these two apps will be the same except for the name/branding.

Never say never though there are currently no plans for a native Android version of the app. In the meantime, please check out the selection of Twitter accounts that may cover the information you’re looking for.
